Project 100 Celebrates Its 100th Recipient

Project 100 is celebrating its biggest milestone, announcing that it will reach its 100th recipient this week!

LIVONIA, Mich., - Project 100 is celebrating its biggest milestone, announcing that it will reach its 100th recipient this week! The organization, created by Co-op Services Credit Union, has been handing out $100 dollar bills to random people all over town to promote giving back in local communities. Upon reaching its 100th giveaway, Project 100 will attain its goal of giving out $10,000 in cash to recipients all over Southeast Michigan.

"We're looking forward to meeting our 100th recipient and reaching this incredible milestone," says Jeremy Cybulski, Project 100 spokesperson and Co-op Services Employee. "We have met so many wonderful, giving people and have generated such amazing energy in the communities we've visited."

Co-op Services Credit Union created Project 100 to generate a feeling of community and hope in a time when the Metro Detroit area needed it most. They wanted to spark a change that would continue to spread throughout the area. And based on the reactions of the random people selected all over town to help with the cause, they have achieved their goal.

"This money has brought a sense of renewed hope to many," Cybulski states. "We've had many recipients cry with joy because the money couldn't have come at a better time. Whether they've experienced a loss of a job or just know someone else who has, the money has really made a difference."

"When we started the program, we had no idea what the response would be." says Lisa Fawcett, Marketing Director for Co-op Services Credit Union. "Since then, we have received so many stories about the wonderful things that recipients have done with the money. It's truly remarkable to see how others have chosen to give back."

Co-op Services Credit Union wants to make sure the giving doesn't stop with the 100th recipient. They're encouraging everyone to visit their website, www.whatisproject100.com, to learn about ways that they can give back in their community. "Be sure to check out the website," says Jeremy Cybulski. "It's an amazing resource and it will keep you informed of we are doing next, because Project 100's mission of giving back is just getting started."
