Ylang Ylang Beach Resort Proudly Contributing To Costa Rica's Renewable Energy Efforts

Lush island paradise responds to report that Costa Rica has been producing 100-percent of its power generation needs on renewable energy sources for 75 consecutive days.

It was recently announced that the nation of Costa Rica has been producing 100-percent of its power generation needs on renewable energy sources for some 75 consecutive days. This comes as a milestone for the Central American country, as well as a major achievement in raising the bar for all developed nations worldwide. In response, Ylang Ylang Beach Resort, a lush island paradise comfortably nestled in the town of Montezuma, has been proud to be a contributor in Costa Rica’s efforts to provide renewable energy for residents and tourists, with resort representatives citing the hotel’s solar garden that provides a formidable amount of power for guest rooms and the on-premises restaurant.

The Costa Rican Electricity Institute (ICE) reported that the country’s zero-emission milestone was enabled courtesy of heavy rainfalls at four hydroelectric power facilities in the first quarter of 2015. These downpours, according to ICE representatives, have meant that for the months of January, February and March, there has been no need to burn fossil fuels to generate electricity.

We are proud to be contributing to our planet's health by using this sustainable energy source.
