The Zambezi Portland Cement Factory has been facing a consistent downfall in the past one and half months. Ever since the plant was captured by the ‘Italian Mafia’ there has been a constant downfall in production and moral of the employees. According to a publication made by ‘Zambia Watchdog’, the employees of the ZPC have not received their monthly remuneration for the month of April from the new management group.

To cover up their existing deficiencies, the Ventriglias have announced that they will be offering the existing employees in the factory with a salary hike of 10% (basic salary) along with improved working conditions. However, the employees have understood the trick which the Ventriglia family is playing with them and have expressed no joy over this news. A worker who wished to be unnamed commented, “We all are tired of listening to the promises which the Ventriglias make. The thing is they are good at making promises, but not at executing.”

Therefore, it can be inferred that the current management group of the Zambezi Portland Cement Factory under Antonio Ventriglia has failed to meet the challenges and is only concerned about their personal gains by transferring money from the cash box to their private accounts.
