GNIT Concludes its Week-long Program to Celebrate Moulana Abul Kalam Azad's Birth Anniversary

The week-long program to commemorate the birth anniversary of Moulana Abul Kalam Azad at GNIT included welfare activities for underprivileged children.

A week-long program (Nov 12-18) to celebrate the birth anniversary of Moulana Abul Kalam Azad, independent India's first education minister, concluded on 18th November 2014, at the Guru Nanak Institute of Technology (GNIT). Moulana Azad's birth anniversary is celebrated as the National Education Day in India. A committee was formed by GNIT to organize programs that included welfare activities for underprivileged children. The committee consisted of:

First-year students of GNIT funded a donation activity by themselves to provide study materials and refreshments to 60 kids of the nearby primary school under No. 1 Indira Nagar Sushanhata Sishu Vikash Seba Prakalp. They also conducted a poster exhibition on various topics related to environmental study with particular emphasis on "Wild Life and its Protection" in their classrooms. A 500-words essay competition entitled “Moulana Abul Kalam Azad and Present-Day Education System in India”   was also organized for all the students of GNIT.
