Your Time Publishing, LLC And Nationally Renowned Tutoring Program STAIR Completes First Collaboration

Online, June 1, 2012 (Newswire.com) - "Writing our Stories" is the published result of the collaboration between several entities: STAIR, Your Time Publishing, SAiiW, tutors, site managers and the children of STAIR. There were fifteen students who participated in this program during the 2011-2012 session. They were asked to write about several topics but were also encouraged to choose their own subjects and these are their thoughts. This book is the first collaboration of Your Time Publishing, LLC and STAIR. Sara Woodard, Executive Director of STAIR said, "This book provides STAIR children with a wonderful vehicle to express themselves in writing. Whether it's a story about their birthday, favorite vacation or special holiday, the book features the endearing and enlightened thoughts of young New Orleans children, as told in their own words."

Heidi Sherman of STAIR worked diligently with Your Time Publishing to develop the curriculum for the trail program. Books are available from Amazon and other online bookstores.

Start the Adventure in Reading (STAIR) is a 26-year-old local children's literacy program that provides free one-on-one tutoring in reading to at-risk elementary students from participating public schools in the New Orleans area. Mission Statement: To improve the reading skills and self-esteem of lower grade elementary school students.

Spark an interest in writing (SAiiW) Mission Statement: To spark an interest in writing at the earliest age possible. We would like to capture the stories of children from their point of view. SAiiW is the non-profit entity developed to promote the creative process of writing and telling stories by engaging young minds to share their thoughts. SAiiW has worked with several schools, after school programs and private programs to initiate the telling of stories. This is the first volume of stories from our children.

Your Time Publishing is a local publishing house that is interested in publishing the underrepresented writer. We believe that children are capable of telling and writing their stories. We all learn best when we can relate to the lesson. We have been working with children from our beginning with the spark an interest in writing campaign. Like anything we want to master we need to start young and be consistent. Your Time Publishing, LLC has positioned itself as a community leader promoting reading and writing. In its two short years, Your Time Publishing, LLC has been involved with the Annual Children's Book Fair since its inception, developed an Annual Book giveaway, and has worked with many venues through-out the city to bring the sights and sounds of reading to the masses.
