Residents in the Casper, Cheyenne, Green River, and Rock Springs communities will have a chance to safely destroy sensitive personal documents during WyHy Federal Credit Union’s Document Destruction Days on Friday, October 20th and Saturday, October 21st.

The Casper Branch event will take place on Friday, October 20th, 1:00-4:00 p.m., at 1521 Centennial Court.

The Cheyenne branch event is scheduled for October 21st, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., at 1715 Stillwater Ave.

The Rock Springs event is set for October 20th, 1:00-4:00 p.m., at 110 Commerce Drive.

WyHy is hosting this free community event as part of its commitment to helping consumers protect themselves against identity theft and fraud. Residents are advised to destroy all documents containing personal information, such as Social Security numbers, bank account numbers, PINs, passwords, home addresses, or birthdates.

WyHy is partnering with Shred-it to shred documents on-site securely. Attendees can stay in their cars while Shred-it personnel safely dispose of their personal documents in the shred truck.

Participants may bring up to two banker boxes of personal documents to be safely shredded at the branches.

Items that are eligible to be shredded include:
• Account statements
• Credit reports
• Cancelled checks
• Pay stubs
• ATM receipts
• Credit card and utility bills

Materials that will not be accepted include batteries, flammables, combustibles, electronic equipment (hard drives), and media materials (DVDs, CDs, and tapes). We also recommend that you do not include binder clips and metal items, thick folders or portfolios, sharp objects, or cardboard tubes with your documents to be shredded.

Supporting the Food Bank of Wyoming:
In addition to helping community members protect their personal information, WyHy is also dedicated to supporting local causes. During the Document Destruction Days, WyHy encourages attendees to make a donation to the Food Bank of Wyoming. Food Bank of Wyoming is making a difference in the lives of those in need, providing vital resources to those in need throughout the state. Their commitment to helping families in need ensures that no one has to suffer from hunger and poverty. Their mission is to provide nutritious meals and support to those in need, and they are doing just that with their generous donations and volunteer efforts. Get involved with the Food Bank of Wyoming and help make a difference today! WyHy will match the amount for every donation made, doubling the impact to help those in need in our community.

The event is free and open to the public. Residents do not need to be a member of WyHy to participate. For more information, call (800) 442-2392 or visit WyHy.org.
