A larger than life 70x80 foot Times Square photo mosaic billboard was unveiled in late August NYC's infamous Times Square. It kicked off eHarmony's 10th Year anniversary celebration.
Online, September 16, 2010 (Newswire.com) - In case you missed it, the world's largest multi-size-cell mosaic was unveiled in Times Square in late August 2010 on 42nd St between 7th Ave and 8th Ave. This masterful large scale work of art was part of eHarmony's 10th Anniversary Celebration. The mosaic measured approximately 70ft by 80ft featured varying sized photos, also known as a multi-size-cell mosaic. The creative digital artist behind this amazing mural was Albert Charpentier and his design and development team at Picture Mosaics. This type of photo montage, also known as a photo mosaic, is very unique in that all of the photos were submitted by actual success couples from eHarmony; in total over 14,000 photos were used to create the photo mosaic. Photos within the mosaic range in size from 7ft by 5ft to 8in x 6in. We spoke briefly with Albert, and he explained that the mosaic was a mesh of both advanced proprietary software and custom graphic editing and massaging that took approximately 3 weeks to perfect. In addition to the mural, an online interactive mosaic was created which has its own wow factor - you can easy get lost reading all of the wonderful stories. You can even order a mug or t-shirt with your photo right through the interactive mosaic.
