Whole Children, Whole Planet and Gen7 Present L.A.'s Largest Earth Day Event April 24

In celebration of Earth Day, Whole Children, Whole Planet Expo and Gen7, a leading builder of green, healthy classrooms - is hosting a free community event from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 24, at Highland Hall Waldorf School in Northridge,

Northridge, CA - April 21, 2010 - In celebration of Earth Day's 40th anniversary, Whole Children, Whole Planet Expo - in partnership with Gen7 (www.gen7schools.com), a leading builder of green, healthy classrooms - is hosting a free community event from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 24, at Highland Hall Waldorf School in Northridge, CA.

Anticipated to be the largest Earth Day celebration in the greater Los Angeles area, the event will bring parents, teachers, students and members of the community together to learn about sustainability by participating in enriching activities, highlighted by celebrity speakers and environmental experts, exhibitors, educational workshops, entertainment, music, prizes and organic foods.

During the event, Gen7 will provide valuable information about how schools can quickly and affordable reduce their carbon footprints, as well as provide attendees the opportunity to help give back to the schools that educate our children through its Wish Tree Project. For every person who stops by the Gen7 booth (#127) and writes down their wish for a more sustainable future, Gen7 will make a donation to Highland Hall, the host school.

Other event activities include Enrichment Village, which teaches children about sustainable living practices; a Yoga Lounge; and workshops that address a range of eco- and family-conscious topics. Speakers include Amy Brenneman, Dr. Bob Sears, Rachelle Carson Begley, Anna Getty and Dr. Alan Greene, among others.
