Charleston, South Carolina, April 30, 2011: Rob Turkewitz and his crew, including the Coastal Crisis Chaplaincy's own Chaplain Dennis McGowan, are setting sail for a cause: to support the CCC here in Charleston.
Coastal Crisis Chaplaincy (CCC) serves a very important function in our community. Formed in 1990, CCC has provided comfort and support to thousands of individuals and families who have experienced a tragedy. In order to help raise money for this worthy cause, the sailing ketch "First Light" and Rob's Crew, sponsored by WhirlyBird Solutions, LLC, participated in Charleston Race Week's offshore sailing race April 15th - 17th. Please make your contribution on-line at www.coastalcrisischaplaincy.org and click on the Race Week icon.
WhirlyBird Solutions, LLC is proud to continue its tradition of giving back to our community. For the second year, WhirlyBird Solutions, LLC, has sponsored Rob Turkewitz and the First Light Crew to sail for the CCC during Charleston Race Week! Last year over $2,000 in sponsorships were donated. You can follow CCC's progress in reaching their fundraising goal and learn First Light's race results at: twitter.com/SailingForCCC
The WhirlyBird Repeller is the simple, safe, and effective solution to repel and keep nuisance birds off boats, docks, navigational aids, solar panels, and other commercial and residential settings where bird droppings are a hazard to health and property. Tested and used by the US Coast Guard, the WhirlyBird Repeller spins and wobbles in the wind and reflects sunlight in a constantly changing manner that frightens birds and prevents them from becoming acclimated.
