What Is The Future Of E-Mobility?

Electric Mobility is a shared responsibility of all participating industries, institutes and governments. It can only work when it is integrated and coordinated. As a result, electrically chargeable vehicles will bring lots of benefits for cities, su

It is necessary to get the industry and the policy makers on one platform to discuss the importance of e-mobility and to share opinions as to the future development plans.
Therefore, Fleming Europe is pleased to host Hybrid & Electric Vehicles Forum 2011 held on 1-2 February 2012 in Prague, where examples of practical solutions implemented in some cities will be presented as well as advances and challenges of battery development, is designed.

17 Speakers from the largest and best-known car producers , energy companies, institutes and associations will present at the Forum also about standards and regulations within the Industry.

"I am really looking forward to this event which should bring the topic of e-mobility to Central Europe. I expect that the debate will reflect the specificities of the local markets and hope it will give additional input to policy makers from the region to help them assess e-mobility from different perspectives." said Mr. Petr Dolejsi, the Director of Mobility and Sustainable Transport at The European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA), who speak at Hybrid & Electric Vehicles Forum 2012

Mr. Paul Braun, who is a Professor of Materials Science and Engineering, University of Illinois, will present about nanostructured batteries allowing recharge in less then 5 minutes:

"Rapid charge and discharge is an increasingly sought-out feature of electrical energy storage devices, but rapid charge and discharge rates lead to dramatic capacity reductions in most rechargeable batteries."

Mr. Petr Dolejsi has talked to cars21.com about the Assocation's take on electric mobility:

"Establishing a network of public charging is one of the key factors to speed up the market uptake of electrically chargeable vehicles."
To make this happen, the access to the infrastructure that needs to be provided, and for this, significant investments are needed.

"To achieve the best situation for customers worldwide, from the perspective of the automotive industry, it would be key to make swift progress on battery performance, on the harmonisation of technical standards and on the opening of markets worldwide to enable each and every customer to choose his or her favourite vehicle."
