West Suburban Medical Center Hosts Media Day at River Forest Breast Care Center
River Forest Breast Care Center Now Providing the Most Advanced 3D Mammography in the Heart of Our Community
RIVER FOREST, Ill., February 25, 2021 (Newswire.com) - River Forest Medical Campus is promoting the importance of self-love this February with the message "Love Yourself, Get a Mammogram" and introducing advanced mammography technology now available at its accredited Breast Care Center. They are hosting a media day event on campus, located at 420 William Street in River Forest on Thursday, Feb. 25, at 10:15 a.m. in the circle drive, Building A.
A press conference will be held at the event to provide information and education regarding the Breast Care Center that is now offering the most advanced 3D mammography technology available. During the first wave of the pandemic, many of its patients chose not to receive vital breast care, including mammograms, due to state restrictions. Now, with restrictions loosened, the River Forest Breast Care Center is encouraging all women not to delay breast care any longer.
"Serving the needs of our community is always our top priority and, now, with the Genius 3D Mammography exam from Hologic, we are offering our patients the most advanced mammography available. It's our goal to be cutting edge and at the forefront of care, and this tech helps us stay ahead of the curve," said Barbara Martin, CEO of West Suburban Medical Center and the River Forest Medical Campus.
West Suburban Medical Center and The Breast Care Center at the River Forest Medical Campus have partnered with ASLF to offer no-cost-to-you screening mammograms and diagnostic testing to women or men who meet the Foundation's requirements. ASLF doesn't exclude anyone based on age, residency or socioeconomics. The only requirement is need. Through new technology software, the Breast Care Center is able to provide the most advanced screenings to all patients.
West Suburban's comprehensive breast care program, located at the River Forest Breast Care Center, provides women with a Breast Nurse Navigator to guide them through their entire breast care journey, from breast biopsy to survivorship care program, and includes state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging certified by the American College of Radiology.
"If there's one thing I can tell the women who are in our service area, it's to get a regular mammogram. It's the most straight-forward way to ensure you're able to catch cancer early. If you do need cancer care, trust that this technology is the very best in the industry to treat the ailment in the least invasive and most efficient way," said Dr. Rabia Bhatti, Breast Surgeon and Medical Director of the Breast Care Center.
