Wee Peats Children's Resale Gets Online Revamp

Small business Wee Peats is reaching out to create an online community and keep up in the world of social media.

Joanne King of Wee Peats has revamped the online presence of the long owned children's resale boutique. The store hopes to focus on building stronger customer relationships through the use of online media tools like Facebook, twitter, and an online blog.

"In today's times, it is not enough to just put a coupon in the paper anymore," explains King. "We need to race to compete with everyone else taking advantage of social media and better methods of communication."

Southern California residents will be able to view some of the new items the store is receiving every week, be the first to hear about sales or specials, plus they can follow the blog to read about a variety of children's topics. King welcomes the involvement of other Southern California moms who want to participate on the blog by writing stories for the Real Moms section. Here they can vent, offer advice, or simply tell a good story. There is even an area of the blog called Grandma's House where new or experienced grandmothers can read or contribute stories about their favorite job- being a grandma.

"We hope we can bring together a community of parents online who appreciate the effectiveness of buying and selling resale," says King. "One of our biggest customer groups are grandparents! They love telling stories too."

Wee Peats has two locations in Orange County; San Clemente and Mission Viejo. King emphasizes the importance of buying used as it benefits many in the local economy, is eco friendly, and provides a place for parents to responsibly switch out old baby gear for different or currently needed equipment.

"Kids outgrow their stuff so fast. Buying and selling in a resale store is an economical and sustainable way to keep up with your kids, as well as keeping money in the local economy," King explains.
