Water Manifolds for Injection Molding

Online, November 9, 2013 (Newswire.com) - Water Manifolds are the main part of plastic injection moulding machine. In general water manifolds are fitted by OEM's in new machine but many times available port requirement is not fulfilled by the available manifold ports with the machine. So in such cases, operator tries to put multiple loops to increase the ports so that all connections to the mould nipples can be made but this way pressure divides & drops that cause to increase the cycle time so to have efficient water distribution system, water manifolds with the required specification is a must thing. Even installation of these not a big deal as just to be screwed over the support hinged provided or hang at the specified location. As water flows inside so it is always recommended either SS 304 or corrosion resistance alloy should be used for making manifolds blocks.

Water quality is also one of the important concern so lower the water TDS higher the manifold life. Since water sources from the cooling tower or chiller through piping channels to the moulds where it gets warms by heated mould & return to the cooling tower or chiller connected so poor quality can yield to scaling inside the mold cooling channels & also effect the life of mould child parts.

Apart from block type designed manifolds, water flow regulator ( Water Batteries called by OEM's ) is an alternate for the same purpose but it is bit costly and assembled with fragile plastic child parts thus giving lesser life than block type design so now water flow regulators are least preferred by OEM's like JWS, Toshiba, Ferromatic, Asian Plastics & many other injection moulding machine manufactures.
