Warner Norcross Attorney to Serve on Michigan Bankers Association Committee

Karen L. Kayes, an attorney with the law firm of Warner Norcross & Judd LLP, has been elected to serve on the Trust Taxation Committee of the Michigan Bankers Association.

Karen L. Kayes, an attorney with the law firm of Warner Norcross & Judd LLP, has been elected to serve on the Trust Taxation Committee of the Michigan Bankers Association.

Kayes, who concentrates her practice in trusts and estates law, will serve as a consultant on the committee, which focuses on advocacy and legislation. The Trust Taxation Committee is one of five MBA Trust Committees that develop legislative positions, review proposed legislation and suggest language to amend current legislation that would have an impact on the Michigan trust industry.

The MBA is an association of Michigan financial institutions with combined assets of more than $200 billion and more than 2,300 branches located throughout the state. The MBA works to advance a positive business environment for the Michigan banking industry and to foster safe, profitable and successful banks, which in turn promote strong communities and economic activity in Michigan.

Kayes provides a full range of estate and tax planning services for business owners, professionals and families. She works with clients to design, implement and administer their estate plan to facilitate the efficient transfer of wealth between generations.

Kayes is a past president of the Lake Michigan Estate Planning Council and the White Lake Community Fund. She is currently chair of the Mercy Health Partners Hadden Planned Gift Committee. She is also a member of the American Bar Association, State Bar of Michigan, Florida Bar Association and Muskegon County Bar Association.
