Wanna Know What Entrepreneurship Is ?

Online, October 14, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Entrepreneurship Cell, IIT Kharagpur is a non-profit student organization which promotes entrepreneurship. The mission of E-cell is to encourage and promote start-ups and provide them mentoring and support. E-cell conducts two major events every year - EAD (Entrepreneurship Awareness Drive) and our flagship Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES).
Entrepreneurship Awareness Drive:
EAD is a pan-India entrepreneurial voyage covering 15 major cities. In each city, there will be an Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp (EAC) featuring guest lectures and interactive workshops. EAD 2010 is expected to motivate around 8000 college students and give them an opportunity to interact first hand with some of the most famous entrepreneurs of their city. We sincerely hope that our initiative motivates more students to become entrepreneurs and help India realize Vision 2020.

Annual B-plan Competitions:
E-cell has launched the annual Business Plan competitions. They are open to all colleges in India. Winners of Concipio (our in-house B-plan competition) have gone on to win pan-IIT B-plan competitions as well as a few international competitions. Our B-plan competitions are:
1. Concipio : the in-house B-plan competition
2. Envision : Product Design Competition
3. Negocio: Web 2.0 and Mobile Application based B-plan Competition
4. Eclairez: Social Entrepreneurship Challenge
5. CleanTech: Clean technology based B-plan competition

Recognition and Response to E-cell initiatives
For our efforts, we have won praise and recognition from many quarters. RBI Governor, D. Subbarao praised E-cell for encouraging entrepreneurship in IIT Kharagpur during his visit on 18th August 2010. Kairos society, New York nominated us amongst a select few to represent India during their prestigious international summit. Overall, the response to our activities among both the corporates and media is very positive and heart-warming, to say the least.
