Walther Lutheran Announces a New Partnership with Concordia University Chicago
Online, February 22, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Mr. James Craven, Head of Schools for the Walther Lutheran High School Association, announced today that a new agreement with Concordia University Chicago has been formulated. This agreement replaces and significantly expands on the previous agreement between Concordia University Chicago and Walther Lutheran Academy. Over the next several months both Walther Lutheran Academy in Forest Park and Walther Lutheran High School in Melrose Park will see some changes as they each become a "Partner School of Concordia University Chicago."
There will be a noticeable increase in Concordia-Chicago education students at both WLA and WLHS as they student teach, work as teacher aides, observe classes, tutor individual students, present units or lessons, or help with special education and ESL programs. Methods classes may meet at the schools so they are in closer proximity to the students with whom they will be working.
Concordia University Chicago will be helping with teacher in-service opportunities and helping the high school in developing more opportunities for Walther students to earn college credit while still in high school. Both WLA and WLHS teachers will have access to the latest educational research and assistance in integrating that into the already exceptional programs. Opportunities for continuing education at Concordia will ensure that the faculty members will remain on the cutting edge in providing the finest education for every student.
