Wake Up & Smell the New "Over Coffee"

Over Coffee officially launches in December, 2011. The power of a cup of coffee and all the important coffee rituals we engaged in have been neglected for far too long. At Over Coffee, users are invited to take part in a world wide community, sharing

"Anyone can meet over a cup of coffee, and anything can happen." This is the premise of a newly launched website that honors and celebrates the various experiences and relationships that are formed over sharing a cup of coffee. "Over Coffee" invites users from all over the world to share their own coffee stories, learn about other coffee cultures, and ultimately connect with one another ... as we do over coffee.

Share Your Coffee Stories

Signing up is absolutely free and easy, especially with the Facebook Connect feature. The site may be new, but it's already attracting users from the United States, Columbia, Switzerland, Israel, Palestine, and the Philippines. Each user is automatically set up with his/her personal blog, and can choose to submit his/her posts to be featured on the "Coffee Stories" page for all to see. Topics range from running into an old girlfriend in a California local coffee shop, to travelling across Asia with a loved one, to the interesting role of coffee in arranged marriage rituals in some traditional Arab cultures. Jessica Jaffe, the founder of Over Coffee, has her own inspirational story of envisioning coffee as a kind of peacemaker tool. But, she emphasizes:

"'Over Coffee" is what you make of it. You are free to publish your own coffee stories to your profile and submit any story to be featured on our "Coffee Stories" page. Your story is up to you! It doesn't have to be about meeting a new person. It can be about having coffee with your mom or a childhood friend. We whole-heartedly invite you to share a piece of yourself and join our worldwide community."

Learn About New Coffees & Coffee Cultures

Want to expand your coffee tastes? Curious about the different coffee drinks around the world and how different cultures convene over a cup? Over Coffee has a great team that researches various countries and their coffee world. They learn about some of the history behind the drink or coffee bean and describe how the coffee is consumed in the present day. How are the cafes in France different from the coffeehouses in Sarajevo? The team at Over Coffee is answering those questions and sharing their research.

After learning a bit about another coffee culture in another country, the website also gives you the instructions and recipe on how to recreate those in your own home.

Over Coffee: Meet, Share & Connect

If you love coffee ... if you love meeting over coffee ... and if you are already thinking back about your own experiences, feelings, or relationships surrounding coffee, you might find some likeminded people on Over Coffee. As Jaffe asks the growing community site members, "What do you see possible over a cup of coffee?
