The event, which is intended to showcase Japanese culture, was modeled after other similar Japanese festivals. The event has grown over the years, and it now includes many activities that take place throughout the state. A golf tournament, live music, traditional Japanese puppet theatre, and the chance to meet contestant vying for the title of Queen of the Cherry Blossom Festival are among the activities.
The Festival Ball is a highlight of the Event on Oahu. Tickets to the ball are available for $100 per person or $1,000 to reserve a table for ten. The Festival Ball features performances that highlight Japanese culture. It is also during the Ball that the Queen and her court will be announced.
