Volunteer Ministers Open European Continental Cavalcade in Belgium to Focus on Helping Others
Volunteer Ministers use Antwerp event to share highly acclaimed solutions in Flemish city.
Antwerp, February 14, 2016 (Newswire.com) - After traveling through Eastern Europe for the better part of 2015, the Volunteer Ministers European Continental Cavalcade held its Belgium grand opening in the Flemish city of Antwerp.
Undeterred by the region’s rainy weather, team members immediately began providing service to anyone wishing to take advantage of their highly acclaimed program.
L. Ron Hubbard described these volunteers as someone who "does not shut his eyes to the pain, evil and injustice of existence," but who provides help "on a volunteer basis by restoring purpose, truth and spiritual values to the lives of others."
Their headquarters consists of three large, bright yellow tents set up in prominent locations. All signs and panels were in French and Dutch to accommodate Belgium’s bilingual population. Inside, Volunteer Ministers held seminars and courses and provided assists, techniques developed by Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard that help ease suffering and pain by addressing the emotional and spiritual components of trauma and injury.
In creating the Volunteer Ministers program in the mid-1970s,
L. Ron Hubbard described these volunteers as someone who “does not shut his eyes to the pain, evil and injustice of existence,” but who provides help “on a volunteer basis by restoring purpose, truth and spiritual values to the lives of others.”
Their tent displays 19 panels, one for each of the subjects in which Volunteer Ministers are trained. They offer training free of charge through courses and seminars to anyone wishing to learn practical and highly effective tools for dealing with life’s pressing problems. These include overcoming the ups and downs of life, resolving conflicts, salvaging marriages or relationships, restoring self-respect, finding the secret of personal integrity and improving the ability to study.
In carrying out its mission, the global force of Volunteer Ministers has responded to major disasters worldwide since 2001. Those bringing the Cavalcade to Antwerp provided disaster relief to hundreds of families in the wake of the Bosnian floods in the late spring and summer of 2014—the worst floods in that country’s history.
In keeping with the Volunteer Ministers’ credo, “Something can be done about it,” the European Continental Cavalcade extends its help to the entire Antwerp community.
