VNA Names Hospice Director

Oak Park, Mich.--Visiting Nurse Association of Southeast Michigan, the state's largest, independent nonprofit home health care and hospice organization, announces Lillian Birrell, RN, BSN, as clinical director of its hospice program.

Oak Park, Mich.--Visiting Nurse Association of Southeast Michigan, the state's largest, independent nonprofit home health care and hospice organization, is pleased to announce the appointment of Lillian Birrell, RN, BSN, as clinical director of its hospice program.

Birrell brings more than 23 years of experience including physical rehabilitation, medical surgical, critical care and outpatient cardiology. Most recently, she served the past 10 years as quality improvement coordinator for the Hospices of Henry Ford in Madison Heights, Mich.

She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Oakland University in Rochester, Mich., and is a certified hospice and palliative nurse and a certified end-of-life nursing-education consortium trainer. In addition, she holds membership with the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization and the Michigan Hospice and Palliative Care Organization.

Birrell is a resident of Warren, Mich.
