Vilnius Innovation Forum '15 Inspired Entrepreneurs to Develop Innovative Ideas
VIlnius, Lithuania, September 9, 2015 (Newswire.com) - It was all about start-ups community in Vilnius Innovation Forum ‘Innovation Drift ‘on September 3 and 4. The discussions were held on the future business and its perspectives. Experts from around the globe shared their insights and practical advices. Among them – Per Moller, founder of the investment fund Blue Lime Labs, Ilja Laurs, chairman at Nextury Ventures, Business Angel Fund I partners Arvydas Strumskis and others. Visitors were also invited to the creativity workshop, led by writer Kristupas Sabolius and creative director of advertising agency NEW! Tomas Ramanauskas.
Special start-up session in Vilnius Innovation Forum was the final part of the project ‘Promotion of innovative business‘ that was initiated and funded by the Ministry of Economy and carried out by the Agency of Science, Innovation and Technology and partners. During the project 70 enterprises and 115 jobs were created. The project also contributed to 1 investment by risk capital and 7 enterprises took part in programs abroad that promote entrepreneurship. 15 partners, universities as well as science and technology parks contributed to these results. Enterprises created during the project are from various branches: biochemistry and medicine, mechanics, energetics, environmental protection and other innovative enterprises. Most of the enterprises are in IT sector.
‘Nanoavionika‘ and ‘Holtida‘ are the most successful enterprises from the project INOVEKS in 2014. ‘Avionika‘s‘ team consists of the first Lithuanian satellite creators ‘LithuaniaSAT-1‘. The company, together with Vilnius University is creating a ‘LituanicaSAT-2‘satellite project and carries out its first commercial order to the foreign client. ‘Holtida‘s‘ specialisation is unique optic measures that guarantee authenticity. The company projects and manufactures optical holographic signs for documents and goods
Project INOVEKS is implemented through EU structural funds measure ‘Inogeb LT-3‘ and is sponsored by European Regional Development and European Social Fund.
Vilnius Innovation Forum hosted over 1000 innovators, inventors and representatives of international organisations. Special sessions were dedicated to IP, drones, space research, bio economy and culture and creative industries. Among the speakers – Head of Marketing for the Baltic States at Google Regimantas Urbanas, Head of Society and Innovation, Member of the Executive Committee at The World Economic Forum (WEF) Nicholas Davis, Director for Accelerators and Technology at CERN Dr. Frederick Bordry, Mars One co-founder and CEO Bas Lansdrop and many other speakers.
