Veterinary Bioscience Institute Introduces Rat Colonoscopy Workshop

Online, August 8, 2010 (Newswire.com) - The Veterinary Bioscience Institute, a leading provider of surgical and biomedical education services, announced today that in addition to its already impressive list of surgical training workshops, it will offer a Rat Colonoscopy workshop beginning September 1st, 2010. Based in Harleysville, Pennsylvania, the Veterinary Bioscience Institute provides state of the art on-line and mobile rodent surgical and biomethodology training to the biomedical community throughout the U.S. and around the globe. "Colonoscopic procedures offer several advantages over more invasive procedures. Colonoscopy results in less pain, faster recovery, and rapid return to regular activities. Newly developed rat colonoscopy procedures allow for the direct examination and evaluation of the rat distal colon, and permit serial biopsy collections. Colonoscopy complements the imagining tools currently available for rodents such as CTs or MRI which do not allow for direct visualization or biopsy collection.
