Veterans Automotive Summit 2017, Sponsored by Tti Global Advanced Veteran Hiring in the Automotive Industry
The Veteran Automotive Summit 2017, was held Friday Sept. 15, at Walsh College in Troy. Representatives from OEM's and major suppliers joined veteran advocates to build career pipelines in the automotive industry. The ESGR, Michigan Veteran Affairs, and TTi Global organized the summit which focused on careers in the auto industry.

Bart Buechner, Vice Chair of the Michigan Employer Support for the Guard and Reserve served as the event’s moderator. Presentations and job forecasts were given by Jason Montgomery, Ford Motor Company, Derrick Hilbert, General Motors, Erin Johnson, Fiat-Chrysler American, Rob Ells, Roush and Dave Rice, Meritor. Steven Potter, Chief of Staff for the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency addressed the audience about the importance of developing career pipelines.

Additional organizations participating in the summit were: Michigan Works, Wayne State University, Oakland University, Northwood University, Walsh College and Macomb Community College. Each had representatives on-site to discuss career and study programs available to veterans.
