Veteran Psychologist to Launch Social and Emotional Learning Platform for Adolescents

VENICE, Fla., August 17, 2020 (Newswire.com) - The Social Black Belt, a social, emotional, and behavioral improvement program developed by Venice-based psychologist Dr. Christopher Cortman, has announced that it will unveil its new e-learning platform on Aug. 31, 2020. The program will be available to all high schools and youth development programs in Florida and nationwide. The release coincides with the publication of his new book of the same name.
In his 35 years and over 75,000 hours of facilitating psychotherapy, Dr. Cortman has identified 10 psychological truths that comprise the body of his new book and learning platform. Founded in 2008, The Social Black Belt has helped thousands of adolescents and young adults improve their self-esteem and develop empathy for others by helping them to understand the causes of their emotions, avoid compulsive behaviors, learn to take healthy risks, re-allocate their emotional energy toward positive outcomes, establish and maintain healthy relationships, and process and recover from trauma and loss.
The Social Black Belt will be available for purchase on Amazon, iTunes, and in brick-and-mortar bookstores. Please contact The Social Black Belt management team to inquire about our programs and curriculum for schools.
At The Social Black Belt, our mission is to be a trusted resource for social and emotional learning from the classroom to the boardroom by teaching young people to know and grow confident in themselves, seek to understand others, and work together to build a better and more conscientious society.
