London, UK, August 25, 2015 (Newswire.com) - Verbatim introduces the Store 'n' Go SuperSpeed portable hard disk drive (HDD). The stylish USB 3.0 device offers fast data transfer to encourage frequent backup for desktops, notebooks or laptop computers. According to a recent survey commissioned by Verbatim, roughly one in five never back up their home computers, and more than a third fail to back up their mobile devices
Available in 500GB, 1TB and 2TB capacities and a choice of black, silver, red, blue or white colours, the storage device has a very stylish, textured exterior design and weighs just 140g (for the 500GB model). Customers choosing the 2TB model can expect to typically store up to 4,000 films, 500,000 photos or 900,000 songs.
"Data backup is an often overlooked. A recent survey we carried out highlighted that mobile phone and computer users are usually reminded about the importance of backing up just when they had lost precious photos, videos or documents. Our new drive provides a stylish, reliable and affordable external backup solution for business professionals and consumers on the go. "
Martijn Hansbergen, Business Development Manager, Verbatim
The drive comes pre-installed with Nero backup software for full system backup and restore functionality which allows users to schedule automatic backups by date and time, or encrypted backup with password protection.
The HDD also has USB Rec&Play to allow the drive to act as a video recorder for TVs that support USB connectivity, allowing recording, playback and even pausing of live TV.
The new Verbatim Store 'n' Go SuperSpeed is currently available online with a manufacturer's suggested retail price of £55 for the 500GB drive (Product reference: 53193), £69 for the 1TB drive (Product reference: 53194) and £110 for the 2TB drive (Product reference: 53195).
Notes to Editors
1.) TVs in some countries may not support USB Rec&Play.
2.) A list of compliant TV sets is available here from the Verbatim website.
3.) Besides showcasing a wide range of new data storage devices, iPhone accessories and 3D printing materials, Verbatim plans to use IFA to promote best practice when storing valuable data, which involves making at least three copies on two types of media kept in a couple of different locations.
