Veery Capital Partners Kathleen Simolike and Cortney Milner Honored at the DBT40 Awards

Industry trailblazers celebrated for their remarkable contributions and leadership in the business community at the Delaware Business Times' 'Top 40 Under 40' ceremony.

Veery Capital’s Kathleen Simolike and Cortney Milner were awarded the Delaware Business Times Top 40 Under 40 Award (DBT40), held September 13 in Newark, Delaware, for their significant contributions and innovative vision. As part of a select group of the region’s best and brightest young professionals under 40, Simolike and Milner have made a difference with their initiative and innovation in finance.

Simolike and Milner started as interns at Veery Capital and progressed to become partners in the firm. They have helped build the wealth management and retirement planning practice while reflecting the organization’s commitment to fostering business excellence and community involvement. Throughout the course of their inspiring journeys, they have worked tirelessly to propel Veery Capital forward.

Simolike has been recognized for her efficient approach to finance, pioneering efforts in uplifting female professionals, and managing the individual client service branch that includes almost 250 households. She was Veery Capital’s first female certified financial planner and has overseen an impressive $310 million asset growth since joining the firm.

Milner oversaw technological changes at Veery Capital and dealt with changing client accounts after the firm merged with another company. She has led the 401(k) book of business with $400 million in assets and has marked her presence in institutional services and retirement planning with a role in across-the-board transfers. "It was a privilege to share this moment and achievement with such talented and inspiring individuals along with one of my fellow partners, Kathleen Simolike," says Milner.

Their leadership roles at Veery Capital extend beyond their professional achievements. Milner is active in the community by helping the Boys and Girls Club of Delaware get new bleachers and gym floors, adopting a family during the Christmas season, and sponsoring a child annually for summer camp.

Inspired by her mother's diagnosis, Simolike completed the Susan G. Komen 60-mile three-day walk for breast cancer and raised over $11,500 for lifesaving research. She also played a crucial role in organizing the company’s annual client event in partnership with Rise Against Hunger, putting together and packaging more than 10,000 meals annually for in-need families.

Veery Capital is a firm committed to partnering with institutions and individuals to achieve their personal wealth management goals, financial planning, and investment management, under the leadership of committed professionals like Kathleen Simolike and Cortney Milner.
