Vancouver Singer AJ Woodworth Wins New Artist Showcase At The Canadian Country Music Awards

AJ Woodworth wins Showcase at the Canadian Country Music Awards

Canadian singing sensation AJ Woodworth recently won the Canadian Country Music Association's New Artist Showcase Award at the annual CCMA's. The awards were held in Vancouver this past September and AJ was among several performers in the new talent category. The eight artists that performed were selected through a submission and a two-tiered jury process which was composed of industry members from across Canada. The showcase took place at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, BC Ballroom. For the first time in 2009, an onsite secret panel adjudicated the performances and the best in show was awarded the 2009 New Artist Showcase Award.

AJ was also nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year, as well as the Ray McAuley Horizon Award as best newcomer at the 2009 BC Country Music Awards. As of late, she has been in the studio recording in preparation of a CD release later this year. AJ also recently sang at the West Vancouver Olympic Torch Celebration and can be seen in performance at the Keith Urban After Party at the Big Valley Jamboree in Camrose, Alberta in August 2010 as well as the Merritt Walk of Stars Gala Fundraiser on May 29th.
