Urban Girl Squad's Two-Year Anniversary Party a Success Despite Horrible Weather
Online, March 25, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Ain't no mountain high, ain't no valley wide, ain't no blizzard strong enough to keep women from an Urban Girl Squad (UGS) event. On Thursday, February 25, 2010, despite the blizzard that painted the city white, three hundred women filled the Hudson Bar at the Hudson Hotel to celebrate Urban Girl Squad's two-year anniversary.
UGS regulars and newbies sipped cocktail specials and mingled with women from all over the city as they helped us celebrate in style.
Women lined up two hours before the doors opened to ensure they received one of our 125 gift bags that included products from great brands like Bliss, L'eggs, Go Nails, Pure Yoga, and Audrey Niffenegger's The Time Traveler's Wife. Although not everyone received the fabulous goodies, the gift bags were not the only way to leave with new products. We also featured a raffle and door prizes where women entered to win prizes such as L'Oreal and Molton Brown products, jewelry from The Andean Collection, and The Ultimate Urban Girl Squad Package: 5 free events and an Urban Girl Squad t-shirt!
Amanda Hofman created Urban Girl Squad, a community-based social group for women in their 20s and 30s in New York City, in February 2008. Urban Girl Squad creates opportunities for women to try new things, spend time with friends, and meet new people. Our events include food and wine tastings, beauty and fashion nights, dance and fitness classes, sports events, volunteer events, cocktail parties, and more. We provide special, discounted access to the city -- you'll meet store owners and designers, taste gourmet food and drinks, receive personal attention from popular venues, and score some amazing gift bags. The welcoming atmosphere at our events makes it easy for members to attend on their own or with friends!
What's next for Urban Girl Squad? Join us as we Learn to Shop Like a Stylist! On Tuesday, April 13th and Wednesday, April 14th, UGS teams up with FIT-trained image consultant, Silfath Pinto, for a shopping lesson at Callalilai.
