Unite for Health Equity: Join the 5th Annual MendingKids.org Hike 2 Mend

A Compassionate Hike To Restore Children's Futures

Mending Kids Hike 2 Mend 2023

Get ready for an inspiring and compassionate morning as we celebrate the 5th annual Mending Kids' Hike 2 Mend. This event is designed to bring the MendingKids.org family and the community at large together to hike for health equity and help children access the surgical care they need to restore their futures. Join us as we unite in solidarity, paying tribute to the parents at home, and worldwide, who embark on heroic journeys to secure surgical care for their children. These resilient parents often face relentless barriers, navigating the complexities of insurance eligibility and denials.

Event Details:

  • Date: Oct. 7, 2023
  • Time: 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM
  • Location: Peter Strauss Ranch, Agoura Hills, CA

Your involvement is not only deeply appreciated but is also entirely free. Mending Kids' Hike 2 Mend presents a unique opportunity for our ever-growing community to unite, magnifying our cause, and ensuring children at home and worldwide have access to the life-changing medical care they deserve, all while raising awareness for health equity.

This event is all about sharing a small part of the challenges that parents face when seeking medical care for their children.

Here's what you can expect: A 1.7-mile long, dog-friendly, gentle hike. Water, snacks, and a sense of community. Thank you to our sponsors: Rebecca Bowman, La Cañada Junior Women’s Club, Karma Bakery, Bü Sunscreen, and Gerry Bailey Farms.

  • Carry the Load Challenge: Choose a backpack weighing between 5 lbs and 20 lbs, filled with bags of rice. This weight symbolizes the weight of a baby having to be carried on a trek to care.  It's a way for you to step into their shoes, empathizing with the emotional and logistical burdens they bear during this journey.
  • The rice, along with other needed items, will be donated to the West Valley Food Pantry.

Mending Kids' Hike 2 Mend is not just a walk in the park; it's a nearly two-mile-long journey of hope, love, and healing, where every step makes a profound impact on the lives of children in need. Your support is priceless, and we can't wait to have you with us on Oct. 7.
