Online, June 18, 2014 (Newswire.com) - The African / African American Historical Society Museum announces its summer camp offerings for Summer 2014.
Cost: $10 Daily Drop-In Rate; $50 per week, or $375 for the entire summer through 8 August. Scholarships Available.
Taught by Dr. John Aden (PhD) and other local experts, your child will benefit from enhanced learning, including (but not limited to) unique perspectives Africans and African Americans have gifted the world.
5 Days a Week, for 8 solid weeks, from 9 AM to Noon!
Gardening Science with Mr. Ephraim Smiley:
In this summer camp topic, your child will learn about the African origins of agriculture in the United States. Students will even sell produce from their own Farmer's Market stall! Marketing, Irrigation, Seed Selection, and other topics covered.
African American Visual Arts: The Masters with Dr. Aden
Your child will discover the deep and broad history of African American visual artists whose works hang in national and international museums and private collections worldwide!
Aeronautical Engineering with Dr. Aden
In this 8 week course, your child will learn about the Science of Flight, roles Africans and African Americans played in this science's development, and even team build a remote controlled airplane!
