Ubud Writers & Readers Festival Retains water&stone as Agency for 2010 Festival

The Ubud Writers & Readers Festival, one of the top literary festivals in the world, has retained full service digital agency water&stone to handle marketing for the 2010 festival. water&stone is tasked with the creation of a new visual identity to accompany the theme of this year's festival: 'Harmony in Diversity.' The firm will then execute that theme across the Festival's media channels, including the website, social media, print media and the various outdoor materials and merchandise used for the marketing of the festival.

Festival co-director Sarah Tooth states 'we were fortunate to work with water&stone for the first time last year, when they supplied our social media marketing services. Their team had a great understanding of our values and provided an exceptionally good service for the Festival. We received a huge amount of positive feedback from our existing audience, and they bought us a whole new online audience, and helped us to communicate with them in new and exciting ways. We are delighted to be expanding our relationship this year to include all our marketing.'

As part of this year's marketing activities, water&stone will be running a series of social media activities during the festival. The campaign will include guest bloggers and real time coverage on Facebook and Twitter. 'Last year's event was a wonderful experience for us,' adds water&stone partner Ric Shreves, 'the passion that the audience feels for this event is strong and heartfelt and that makes for a rewarding environment for our team. Social media activities last year generated great feedback and we hope to build on that this year, hoping thereby to bring the festival to a wider audience.'

A sneak peek of the new festival identity is now online via a temporary website at http://ubudwritersfestival.com. The full site will be released this summer in the lead up to the festival in October of this year.

'This year the Festival is looking at a much stronger online presence, not only through extending our social media activities, but also via an expanded website and direct email marketing. The 2010 Festival website will serve as a real focal point, both before and during the Festival, and will enable participants to create their own schedules and track their favorite writers,' adds Tooth.

This year's Festival will be held from 6 to 10 October in Ubud, Bali. You can follow this year's Festival online at the following locations:
