Twin Cities Bladesmith to Be Featured on History Channel's Forged in Fire
Jason Kraus will compete on season three of the popular show that highlights the art of bladesmithing.
Minneapolis, MN, January 13, 2017 (Newswire.com) - Jason Kraus, a resident of Shorewood, Minnesota and owner of NorthStar Forge, will be a contestant on the third season of History Channel’s Forged in Fire. Kraus will compete against other expert bladesmiths from around the country in a variety of challenges designed to test their skills in blade and knife crafting. The second half of season three of Forged in Fire is set to debut on Tuesday, January 10th at 9:00 pm CST on the History Channel with Jason's episode to air on February 7th.
Kraus will be a featured contestant in one episode of the upcoming season along with three other contestants. The episode was filmed in August of 2016 in New York City and the airdate has yet to be announced. Throughout this episode, Jason and the other contestants are challenged to complete various tasks involving a range of skills essential to the bladesmithing trade. The work of each contestant is judged and a winner is selected at the end of the show. Through these challenges, viewers will witness the sheer amount of work that is required to forge a blade from raw, and sometimes unusual, materials.
