Triangle Based Engineering Firm Selected to Create GIS Inventory
Online, May 6, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Duncklee & Dunham was selected by the City of Sanford, North Carolina to prepare a GIS base Brownfield inventory of a portion of the downtown area. The inventory included the evaluation of approximately 1,800 parcels located in a 1.5-square mile area. Duncklee & Dunham formulated the inventory using data received from the Sanford GIS department to ensure seamless integration of inventory data. Public environmental information and historic aerial photographs were loaded into the GIS database as layers available to developers. In addition, each parcel was given a ranking based on criteria established with redevelopment in mind. Duncklee & Dunham delivered this information to the City of Sanford as a Geodatabase for use by prospective developers to conveniently locate potential development opportunities. Parcels of interest may be selected to view information including PIN, address, size, site-specific environmental data, a site photograph, and development potential ranking. Comments made by brownfield professionals at time of investigation are also available to developers.
