Transformer Currently In Auction

One of the vehicles used to film the movie “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” is being auctioned this week on eBay by the current owner, Steven Smith. The motorcycle was used as the Autobot character “Chromia” in the movie. The auction is scheduled to end June 9th.

The customized vehicle was based on a Suzuki B-King motorcycle. At the time of filming, the B-King was the most powerful production motorcycle available for the street.

"It's a stunning motorcyle, even when it's standing still. It's unusual to have a chance to own an actual Transformer."

Steven Smith, Owner

Blue LED lighting rims the motorcycle’s frame and fairings. The headlight and housing resemble the head of the Transformer and the exhaust pipes resemble legs. The gas tank and side fascia form the robot’s shoulders. According to the company responsible for customization, the multi-stage paint scheme and graphics alone cost nearly $10,000.

“It’s a stunning motorcycle, even when it's standing still,” said Smith. “Chromia’s an unusual movie vehicle because it looks like a show piece. And it’s licensed for the street.”

The motorcycle is seen on screen as the “hero” vehicle. "Hero” vehicles are used for close-ups and “glamour” shots, where appearance counts.  The motorcycle was also used as the basis for the mass-produced “Chromia” toy made by Hasbro.

The motorcycle, supporting documents proving authenticity, and other records will be included in the sale. Also included are copies of the Hasbro Chromia toy and Transformers “standee” theater lobby display. While a firm price has not been established, the auction is expected to net $18,000 to $22,000.

Smith said leasing and booking for special events may also be possible.
