Toyota of Milledgeville Raises Thousands for Toys for Tots
MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga., January 8, 2020 (Newswire.com) - As part of its holiday charitable initiative, Five Star Toyota of Milledgeville donated $50 of the proceeds to Toys for Tots for every vehicle sold in December. At the end of the month, the dealership had sold over 100 vehicles, raising over $5,000 for the organization.
“The mission of Toys for Tots and connection to the Marine Corps made it an easy decision for us to support this holiday season. We will continue to do our best as a dealership to support local causes in the Milledgeville community,” said Patrick Rice, Toyota of Milledgeville General Manager.
2019 marks the first, but certainly not the last, philanthropic event with Toys for Tots. This organization is special not only because it delivers hope to less fortunate children, but it is run by the U.S. Marine Corps. Toyota of Milledgeville employs military members and offers a military rebate for active and retired service members.
Donating $5,000-worth of toys was not the only charitable impact the dealership made last year, however. During the November Turkey-Thon, Five Star partnered with Chard Wray Food Pantry and donated a turkey to 120 deserving families. The dealership plans to continue their philanthropic endeavors and continue to give back to the local community in the near future. “After all, selling cars is only one of the things we focus on here at Toyota,” said Rice.
