Town Bank Fire Company Upgrades to Cloud-Based LED Sign for Community Safety From KC Sign

Town Bank Volunteer Fire Department recently upgraded to a full color LED sign to replace their old and outdated existing sign which will help the department communicate more effectively with alerts and safety notices

Town Bank Fire Company

Town Bank Volunteer Fire Department is located in Lower Township, Cape May County, New Jersey, the southern-most county in the state. The company has served Lower Township since 1945, and its 52-member Department responds to an average of 180 calls per year. The department has a diverse response area including strip malls, apartment complexes, convalescent and rehabilitation centers, 3 schools, marinas, restaurants and local businesses. Safety is their number one priority, and they know it all starts with communication. Recently, they contacted KC Sign and Awnings to replace their old and outdated sign with a brand new full color LED message display which allows them to show alerts and safety notices as well as automatic emergency updates from FEMA.

Bill Clark, owner of KC Sign and Awnings, stated, “The department simply just wanted a way to communicate more effectively with the community. Our LED signs are operated with cloud-based software, so they can immediately update their LED sign anytime, anywhere, plus get emergency notices from FEMA.”

The LED display is controlled through cloud-based software from SM Infinity. The software allows the department to enable “Emergency Alerts.” When enabled, the LED sign will automatically show any Amber alerts, weather notices, and state or federal alerts from IPAWS (Integrated Public Alert and Warning System) operated by FEMA — the same alerts you may see on your cell phone.

KC Sign and Awnings provided and installed a display manufactured by Ontario, California-based Vantage LED, one of several hundred displays they have purchased through their partnership with Vantage LED. KC Sign was able to offer a great solution within the department’s budget and ahead of schedule.

Clark continued, “Vantage LED has consistently delivered high-quality displays and continues to support our company as well as our clients.”

Motorists traveling south on the Garden State Parkway heading to Delaware and all points beyond must travel through the response area of Town Bank Fire Company. A majority of the area is single family dwellings ranging from single story homes to multi-million dollar beachfront homes in Cape May Beach. With this new LED sign, the department will be able to reach their local community as well as their valued visitors.
