Touchstone Health HMO, Inc. To Host Partners In Quality: HCC Awards Dinner

Online, March 24, 2012 (Newswire.com) - New York Medicare Advantage company Touchstone Health HMO, Inc. will host Partners in Quality: HCC Awards Dinner, on Wednesday, March 28, 2012, 6pm, at the Harvard Club of New York City. The evening will commence with a reception, followed by an awards ceremony, Q&A with the honoree panel, and dinner.

Touchstone Health will honor outstanding physicians in the Medicare Advantage HMO's network who have demonstrated significant improvements in their risk-adjustment factor (RAF) scores - through proper documentation and coding. The event is the culmination of a year's worth of hierarchical condition category (HCC) education, awareness building, and coaching.

Hierarchical Condition Category University (HCCU) is a five-hour comprehensive seminar on proper documentation and coding that is based on the 70 different HCC categories, which are weighted by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and based on severity and chronicity of illness. RAF is composed of the Risk Adjusted Diagnosis (HCC diagnosis) that the Medicare Advantage member currently has and the demographic factor CMS assigns to each Medicare Advantage member.
