TopGrading Solutions Finds Networking As Top New Year's Resolution for Professionals

Networking: First Step to Professional and Personal Growth in 2011

TopGrading Solutions, a recruitment organization specializing in Supply Chain Planning and Procurement, asked its network what their Professional New Year's Resolution was for 2011.

Thirty-three percent of respondents stated that they want to build their professional network. Close behind was to find a better work/life balance (30%), while 17% stated "other", 14% want to move up the company ladder, and 6% want to leave their current role.

Jason Breault, Managing Director of TopGrading Solutions was asked to give his opinion about the poll's results. "It is crucial to know who's who in the market place. For those out there looking for a new role, networking should be the first step. In today's world who you know is just as important as what you know. Alternately for those who are happily employed, being able to talk to others about successes with similar projects can help your company make an educated decision on ventures coming down the pike."

Over the past year Breault has helped lead the networking efforts of supply chain planning individuals by bringing them together quarterly in the Boston area, putting together the New England chapter for the Institute of Business Forecasting (IBF).

His advice to help people reach this goal: "Get online, get on the phones, and get in front of people!"
