Top Quality Blu Ray Manufacturing From VDC Group
Online, February 9, 2012 (Newswire.com) - The London-based company, which also provides CD replication, supplies Blu-ray technology to a host of industries including the film, gaming and music sectors in addition to commercial and public sector companies. VDC Group currently claims the title of being the largest independent manufacturer in this field.
VDC Group Mr Ashwin Bedi said: "When it comes to technology and quality Blu-ray is about as good as you can get. The technology is untouchable and that's why broadcasters and production houses in particular insist on the quality a Blu-ray manufactured disc can achieve.
"In fact it has become so popular that, in order to keep up with demand, we are installing our second Blu-ray production machine later this year."
"At VDC Group we strive to continually keep up-to-date with new advances in the sector in a bid to be the best around when it comes to providing quality high definition products. We are confident that to date we have managed to achieve this."
At present the Blu-ray Disc is the only means of delivering Full HD (1080p) 3D content that the consumer can watch in their own home. As well as improved quality, the Blu-ray format also gives a far higher storage capacity than other mediums. This means more interviews with celebrities, the inclusion of trailers and even adverts edited onto the disc.
For companies who are looking for smaller quantities of discs to provide, for example, a small film on a new car launch, then both CD duplication and DVD duplication comes into play. Again, VDC Group provide these at a very competitive cost. These forms of discs work best cost-wise when the customer is seeking quantities of fewer than 500 units. The turn-around too is extremely quick.
With DVD replication data can be stored on both sides of the disc using a dual-layer feature. This makes it possible to store data up to 14 times greater than that provided by a CD-ROM.
Blu-ray refers to the blue laser which reads the disc. DVDs are red by a longer-wavelength red laser. The first Blu-ray Disc prototypes were introduced in 2000 and the first player three years later. It was officially released in 2006. It's popularity caught on to the extent that by July 2010 more than 3300 titles had been released via Blu-ray and nothing has yet been introduced to supercede its popularity or quality.
Mr Bedi added: "Blu-ray is currently the ultimate in high definition copying. Of course this will probably change as time goes on but we will always endeavour to keep up with industry standards and beyond."
