Today LA's Dean of PR and Business Networking Carl Terzian Celebrates 45 Years in Business
Online, May 1, 2014 (Newswire.com) - Carl Terzian, chairman of Carl Terzian Associates, is celebrating its 45th anniversary and will begin his 46th year in practice on May 1. The dean of public relations and business networking in Los Angeles, he has brought together more than 5,000 charities, philanthropic foundations, executives, professionals, public servants and businesses.
"I've been blessed by knowing and fulfilling my life's mission, bringing people together to help them become successful and work for the common good of our community," said Mr. Terzian. "Although we are a full-service PR agency, our niche is business networking and creating a greater awareness of professional services, businesses and nonprofit organizations. We have represented more nonprofits than any other PR agency in the country."
Clients hire Mr. Terzian to introduce them to the right people. His database consists of more than 10,000 community and business leaders, all of whom he knows personally. He conducts over 800 networking activities throughout California annually for his clients, ranging from one-on-one introductions to events with 25-250 people. He has business men and women emphasize not only the "front of the business card" on how they make a living, but puts equal emphasis on the "back side of the business card," or each individual's community involvement and personal uniqueness.
Mr. Terzian's unequalled brand of networking has developed deep friendships, created powerful business relationships, triggered some of the area's most lucrative financial transactions and has generated significant donations to nonprofits. Each year he places hundreds of business leaders on nonprofit boards throughout Southern California and the nation.
Of Armenian parents, Mr. Terzian graduated Magna Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi, Senator-at-Large and Student Body President from the University of Southern California in 1957, majoring in political science. He thought seriously about becoming a Lutheran minister, instead his ministry became business networking and public relations. Although he chose a different career path, he helped found California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, California.
Prior to establishing his own firm in 1969, Mr. Terzian served as an international goodwill ambassador for President Eisenhower and Secretary of State John Foster Dulles; director of public and church relations for the Lutheran Hospital Society of Southern California; dean and professor of government and speech at Woodbury University; and public affairs director for renowned architect Charles Luckman, designer of Madison Square Garden, Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Aon Center in Los Angeles, and the NASA Manned Spacecraft Center in Houston.
Mr. Terzian's first PR client was Norris Industries, today known as NI Industries. Mr. Kenneth T. Norris, founder of Norris Industries, was chairman of the USC Board of Trustees. Mr. Terzian helped launch the university's well respected Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center in downtown Los Angeles.
Mr. Terzian has been honored by dozens of individuals and organizations including Her Majesty the Queen of England, Congress, the California Legislature, and the City and County of Los Angeles. He is regularly invited to give motivational speeches, which amount to 200 annually.
