Atlanta activities with kids:

1) American Girl Boutique and Bistro. This place offers year-round events to inspire and engage young girls by learning the backstory of every American Girl doll. Take a moment to enjoy a full and delicious meal at the Bistro or the Dessert Counter.

2) Atlanta Motor Sports. This place has a 2.5 mile track that hosts the Petit Le Mans, as well as vintage, sports car, motorcycle and go-kart races throughout the year. Get behind the wheel of a super kart in the Andretti Indoor Karting & Games.

3) Chattahoochee River Fun. This place has 16 recreation areas along over a long stretch of the Chattahoochee River have been created to protect the river and give outdoor family fun. You'll find educational programs, boat trips and a bunch more other activities.

4) Georgia Shakespeare. This is a theatrical group that is dedicated to re-enacting contemporary revisions of William Shakespeare. Enjoy your day on at the Oglethorpe University while visiting the Conant Performing Arts Center.

1) Liberty Bell. The fact that this object is such a prominent piece of American history, visiting it as well as Independence Hall is an absolute must for all kids. The best part about it is that admission is free, but the educational and entertainment value is through the roof.

2) Fun with Science. Take a walk through a two-story human heart at the Franklin Institute, or explore a life-size submarine at the Indepence Seaport Museum, and don't miss out on the opportunity to hold creep crawly insects in your hands at the Insectarium.

3) Mutter Museum. Take an interesting tour of the hundreds of medical oddities displayed at the museum for a disturbing but fun educational experience. You'll find that you won't be able to think of the medical profession in quite the same way again.

4) Kids Castle. This is an 8 story wooden playground that is an absolute wonder for kids. The structure is 35 feet high with a giant twisting slide, a tree house, a dragon, a rocket ship, a barn yard and downtown pedestrian area for smaller children. There are tons of swings and slides and a child's amphitheater for summer shows.

5) National Museum of American Jewish History. Dedicated to preserving the American Jewish experience, this vast museum is both educational and fun for the entire family. Tickets do have to be purchased in advance, but the experience is worth the wait.
