The Sylvia Brafman Mental Health Center Unveils Its Clinical Approach to Behavioral Health Treatment
TAMARAC, Fla., July 28, 2021 (Newswire.com) - The Sylvia Brafman Mental Health Center, a newly created behavioral health treatment center, has released a preview of the unique clinical approach and philosophy it will employ upon opening its doors in Florida this August.
CEO and Co-founder Jaime Blaustein said the center's objective is to "stabilize and subsequently find the 'source' of the disorder as quickly as possible so that we can find the optimal combination of a clinical, spiritual, and therapeutic 'wellness package.' Whether that source is a chemical imbalance, a spiritual malady, a general worldview that's been embedded in the patient's thinking from a young age, lingering trauma - that will vary from person to person, and we'll be equipped to hone in on what's driving the condition," said Blaustein.
The Sylvia Brafman Mental Health Center will be small, intimate, and will not be shy about straying from conventional treatment tactics. There will be a strong focus on the family dynamic through a weekly 'Family Night,' weekend programming, and portions of treatment in which families attend group alongside the identified patient.
"The family must recover, and reenacting the family function in a safe environment is a game-changer," said Clinical Director and Co-founder Ben Brafman.
Furthermore, they will employ a "community" dynamic in spirit and in physical form, dedicating various rooms to different areas of mental health remedies such as a meditation room, career launch room, self-reflection room, and art and music therapy room.
'The 6 Pillars of SBMHC,' moreover, will drive the culture and establish the center's key principles and areas of focus - The Comeback, Flourishment, Connection, Adaptability, Acceptance, and Awareness.
"We're all about 'the comeback' at Sylvia Brafman," said Blaustein. "It's something we've experienced personally and the ultimate payoff of this work is seeing peoples' lives recreated. We want people to flourish, not just 'get by.' It's about getting fired up and excited to show up for life, not just surviving."
Perhaps most unique is the center's Career Launch program, which was designed by Blaustein personally. "The goal of this program is to help patients resurrect their career and/or education through sitting down with me personally and devising a game plan. We are primarily focused on our internal condition in treatment, but that doesn't mean we cannot take steps to improve our career trajectory simultaneously."
"Ben Brafman's track record as a thought-leader in mental health gives me tremendous confidence that we'll be able to hit the ground running and execute on his clinical plan from day one," said Blaustein.
