The Russia E-Visa for St Petersburg is Now Available to Citizens of 54 Countries

The new St Petersburg eVisa has gone live on Oct. 1, 2019, by decree of President Putin. Eligible countries include Germany, France, Singapore, Japan or South Korea.

​​​​​​​​​​The new electronic visa allows international tourists to travel to St Petersburg for a short period of time and can be applied for entirely online. The first step is to complete the Russia online visa application form for St Petersburg which involves entering a range of basic information such as the applicant’s name, date of birth, passport details and travel dates. There are also some security-related questions.

Applicants will also need to provide a copy of their passport (issued by an eligible country), a recent photo, and proof of medical insurance coverage for the duration of their stay in Russia. The E-visa is sent to the applicant via email after the application has been successfully processed.

International travelers are advised to apply at least 4 days before they travel to Russia as this is the time it normally takes to process a Russian electronic visa application.

Arriving in St Petersburg with the eVisa

Russia eVisa for St Petersburg: Entry Points

The new Russian electronic visa allows international travelers to enter the region of St Petersburg and Leningrad via land, air, and sea. Visitors can cross the border at the following eVisa-valid entry points:

  • Land: Ivangorod, Brusnychnoe, Svetogorsk, Torfjanovka
  • Air: Pulkovo Airport
  • Sea: Vysotsk, Marine Station, Passenger Port of St Petersburg
  • Pedestrian crossing: Ivangorod

The St Petersburg and Leningrad region electronic visa allows freedom of movement within the region only. Holders of an eVisa for St Petersburg will need to apply for a new electronic visa in order to enter other regions (like the Kalinigrad region) and vice versa.
