The round table "Agricultural production increase in the Black Sea region: weather factor or improved growing practices?" to take place within the framework of the 7th International Conference "BLACK SEA GRAIN 2010"
Online, April 29, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Investments in the Ukrainian agricultural sector grew exponentially in 2006-2008, but the year of 2009 was featured by their fall. As a consequence, a 60% drop in sales was registered in the machine-building industry, 30% in agrochemistry, and 20% in seed production.
To overcome the deficit of "reliable" and "comparable" information for investors, UkrAgroConsult Analytical Center will hold the round table "Agricultural production increase in the Black Sea region: weather factor or improved growing practices?"
The round table will take place in Kyiv (Hotel Intercontinental) on May 19, 2010, i.e. on the first day of the 7th International Conference "BLACK SEA GRAIN 2010".
Unfortunately, investments still pass by Ukraine, because public and private capitals prefer a transparent economic environment. Nevertheless, stabilization of investments is expected in 2010, as well as rising agricultural outputs and preservation of cultivation areas.
The positive trends are reflected in the government plans to ensure a 5% GDP growth in 2010. This will contribute to the hope of Ukrainian agricultural producers for production stabilization and higher sales.
Specialists of German-Ukrainian Agricultural Policy Dialogue, UkrAgroConsult, Syngenta, Jurimex and RapidEye will take part in discussing this round table subject.
