The Star Of Stage and Screen Roseanne Barr and The CODEPINK Women Are Joining Several Prominent Women's Organizations and Sponsoring A Massive Mother's Day Event Calling For World Peace On Behalf Of All Mothers World-Wide.

Online, May 4, 2010 (Newswire.com) - An Amazing Mother's Day Event with a Cry of, "WE WANT PEACE FOR MOTHER'S DAY!" will be held this Saturday, May 8th(the day before Mother's Day)at the John Marshall Park Located near 4th Street and Pennsylvania Ave.NW, close to The National Mall.

A gathering of this kind is certain to bring the message of Peace and Human Unity to the Nation's Capital this weekend. This exciting event will be held in the spirit of the original 1870 "Mother's Day Proclamation" in which its author and actual founder of Mother's Day, Juliet Ward Howe, called upon the nation to, "Disarm, Disarm! Mothers say disarm!"

In addition, a giant "Cozy" (4' X 50')made from knitted pieces sent in by women from all over the world, will be displayed with Juliet Ward Howe's famous words, "We will not raise our children to kill another mother's child."

Other Highlights include: a Children's Peace Train, Interactive Music, Speakers For Peace from War-Torn Countries, an "Arms-Are- For-Hugging" Hug-In, Dancing, Poetry and a Theatrical Reading of Juliet Ward Howe's actual 1870, "Mother's Day Proclamation".

Everyone is encouraged to bring their mothers and children and celebrate with their families and friends the original intent of Mother's Day...calling for Peace throughout the world.
