DALLAS - The Pro Artist Group, an organization of artists with more than 75 years of collective fashion industry experience, will be holding a series of summer camps called Project Fashion Camp to share experience to those interested in learning about or wanting to enter the fashion industry. Students who enroll will attend detailed courses about the fashion industry and meet high-profile speakers from the fashion world. Project Fashion Camp will be held three separate times during the summer of 2012. The camps are open to students ages 13 and up with tuition beginning at $500. Proceeds from the camps will benefit the American Cancer Society. Those interested in attending the camp, can sign up at www.theproartistgroup.com.

The American Cancer Society is happy to be the beneficiary of these fashion camps," said Maria Clark, regional vice president of the American Cancer Society. "We're hoping these students learn that it is in style to wear sun screen, maintain a healthy weight and not smoke, just three factors in making this a world with less cancer and more birthdays."

The areas of study included in the program are fashion styling, hair and make-up styling, photography and model boot camp. In addition to attending workshops, students will meet and connect with a new industry expert each day, as well as participate in mock photo shoots. These guest speakers will give students insider tips and share their experience working in the industry. Some of the industry professionals that will visit Project Fashion Camp include agency directors, magazine editors, boutique owners, television personalities, fashion designers and more.

On the last day of camp, students will be able to show their work when they present a fashion show to their friends, family and members of the fashion world. Students of Project Fashion Camp will gain hands-on experience in the fashion world, gain a larger professional network, and gain two professional photographs to add to their portfolios. The camps will be held at Anderson Studios at 1100 Lupo Drive, in Dallas, Texas. Each camp will last a week, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.:

• Session One: June 25th - June 29th
• Session Two: July 9th - July 13th
• Session Three: August 6th - August 10th

"We created Project Fashion Camp in order to make an impact on future generations of stylists, designers, photographers and models of the fashion industry by opening doors to contacts to ensure their path to success," said Chivvis.

"We brought all of our talent and knowledge together for the purpose of mentoring those who hope to pursue a career in fashion, while simultaneously offering a one-of-a-kind experience that gives back to the community. We are honored to have the American Cancer Society as our charity."

Director Jeanette Chivvis, celebrity stylist and fashion designer, who has her own television segment and more than 20 years of fashion industry experience, leads the Pro Artist Group team. Other members include Paige Anderson, a professional hair and makeup artist with decades of experience making men and women look fabulous; Randy Anderson a 30-year seasoned, celebrity and commercial photographer; and Eric Oliver, Jr. owner of Protege by EOJ, a fashion event production company, as well as a runway producer and wardrobe consultant.

ABOUT THE PRO ARTIST GROUP

In 2009, The Pro Artist Group came together when this group of fashion artists recognized a need to teach young, up-and-coming fashion artists about the successes needed to flourish in the fashion industry. In addition, The Pro Artist Group felt a responsibility to give back to the Dallas community. The Pro Artist Group is the only organization in Dallas to show the true practicum of how the fashion world works in Dallas, New York, Los Angeles, Paris, Milan, London and elsewhere.
