The One Thing That Tiger Woods And All The Top Network Marketers Have In Common - And It's NOT A Goo
Online, September 30, 2009 (Newswire.com) - I know people that buy new golf clubs every year, expecting the newest, most expensive set will make them a better golfer. It always seem strange to me that they are so willing to give up on what they have with the illusion that there has to be a better club that will shave strokes from their game.
Personally, I have used the same set for years. They were custom made for my measurements, swing speed and swing mechanics. Sure, there are nicer, newer clubs I look at, but I have a good feel for what I have, and have practiced with them such that I am comfortable and consistent with them. I guess I don't feel a need to jump ship with the hope that something else will make me better just by changing something external.
This is the same affliction I have heard of countless times in network marketing. People are quick to decide that all they need for success is something new. Their old MLM is - for some reason - not getting them what they are after. The comp plan isn't good enough. The product is out dated. There's too many competing products. The number of excuses is astounding. The general theme of chaning business is this: People are looking for the external elements that cause their failure, and they change the meaningless external influences to try to improve rather than change their own internal issues.
It's the internal tools and implementation - practice using them - that leads to success. I'm absolutely certain that if I had the worlds best clubs, and gave Tiger Woods my grandfather's 1970's vintage clubs, he would still crush me! What I'm getting at here - if you haven't already guessed - is that the tools of success are not external. Tiger has a better set of internal tools than any other golfer he plays against. Those tools have made him successful.
That's why there are people out there that are successful with their MLM, regardless of what you think about their product. I have thought about other people and their products in the past wondering how they can be so successful with such a useless product. But then the realization happened. It's not the product or the plan that makes those top earners successful. MLM top 3% earners have an internal set of tools that 97% of the industry does not.
Our industry has plenty of successful entrepreneurs. On the surface they look no different that you and me. They pull their socks on one at a time. Why should they be any better at building a downline, when they appear to be just like you and me?
They have likely done the same as you and I, failed or struggled with their business. The best of the best in MLM were not born successful. They were built. They didn't jump from one business to the next when they ran into hard times. They learned, adapted and grew to become leaders. They looked inside to see that the reason they had not succeeded this time was due to only one reason.... themselves!
Can you imagine Tiger losing a couple tournaments when he was a junior and deciding to play baseball instead? Losing a few games, deciding to play football? Take a couple hard hits and start playing tennis? Not a chance! He took the hard times and defeats and made them learning experiences upon which he grew and became stronger. Even when he was already the best in the world, it was not enough, and he re-tooled his swing and came back arguably even more dominant. This is what a leader does!
Leaders are created, but they are not created by external factors. Leaders look inside and build themselves. They accept their mistakes and failures and move on. They research and find coaches. They seek the best in the business and learn what it takes to improve upon already existing success.
The information that the most successful use is available to you too! Have you looked for it? Have you really felt that desire to succeed so strongly that you have gone out and found those sources of knowlege?
Seek the knowlege that improves you, learn it, practice and apply it until it becomes second nature.
Only YOU can improve YOU. Only YOU can make yourself successful.
