The Lettermen, the Angels, the Coasters and the Penguins to Be Inducted Into the Doo Wop Music Hall of Fame

Meet and mingle with the best and brightest of the original Doo Wop generation as the GLOBAL DOO WOP COALITION hosts its inaugural induction gala in beautiful downtown Los Angeles at the historic Globe Theater. Celebrate the best of the old and the new as the Doo Wop classics take a bow.

The Global Doo Wop Coalition presents The Doo Wop Music Hall of Fame Induction Gala at the historical Globe Theater on April 23, 2016. The 2016 Inductees are Grammy nominees, The Lettermen - When I Fall in Love and Hurts So Bad, The Angels - My Boyfriend’s Back and Thank You and Goodnight, The Coasters - Yakety Yak and Charlie Brown and The Penguins - Earth Angel. In addition, there will be a memorial tribute to the late Wally Roker of The Heartbeats - A Thousand Miles Away and a special on-stage appearance by the founding member of The Lettermen, Tony Butala.

Looking back over his career Butala said he considered himself very lucky. "If I hadn't gone to California, I would have probably stayed in Sharon, Pa., went to work at the steel mill, married my old girlfriend and had 10 kids".

Steven Allerick, who played Simba in the hit Broadway musical The Lion King and new artist Noah Jay, fresh off his appearance on The Today Show and Prank It Forward, will take part in a tribute to past Doo Wop legends. There will be a poignant moment when a very special surprise guest accepts for the late, great Coasters via pre-recorded video. Meet and mingle with such celebrities as Harry Elston of The Friends of Distinction and Grammy nominated Hall of Fame producer, arranger and singer John "Sly" Wilson of Sly, Slick & Wicked

The Global Doo Wop Coalition is proud to bring The Doo Wop Music Hall of Fame Induction Gala to The Globe Theater for our inaugural gala. The Doo Wop Music Hall of Fame will live stream the festivities including the Red Carpet and the VIP Cocktail Party.
