The Laurel Foundation Still Saving Lives
Online, February 22, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Camping is more than just a past time. For some youth, it is a literal life-saver.
Camp Laurel is accredited by the American Camp Association and is based in Pasadena California. This organization serves kids and teens affected by the AIDS/HIV virus. Offering various camp programs such as summer and winter camps, and an adventure camp for teens ages 13-17, The Laurel Foundation is more than just camp songs and s'mores.
Through its camps, the Foundation strives to teach young people applicable life skills such as decision-making, teamwork, and leadership. This is Margot Anderson's passion, and as the founder and CEO of The Laurel Foundation, and she has grown and developed this organization with a great heart and compassion for the children and families it serves.
Its annual RIDE for AIDS 9 takes place on April 9th, with a starting point in the beautiful Santa Monica hills. To participate as a rider, become a volunteer or donate to this worthy cause, contact Margot Anderson at 626-683-0800 or MAnderson@CampLaurel.org.
