The InfraGard National Members Alliance (INMA) Announces Successful 2015 Dupont Summit

InfraGard National Members Alliance (INMA) has announced a successful 2015 Dupont Summit entitled Engaging Communities for High Impact Threats to Critical Infrastructure.  Held on Friday, December 4th this year, the Dupont Summit brings together academics, government, business and social leaders from a variety of backgrounds for a discussion about issues including health, energy, national security and other current topics.  The Dupont Summit is hosted by the Policy Studies Organization (PSO) on the first Friday of December and focuses on technology policy.  The Policy Studies Organization is an association of universities with public policy departments. The PSO has hosted InfraGard National’s EMP SIG each year since 2011.

The 2015 Dupont Summit included many presentations and panel discussions by the FBI, DHS, FEMA, the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy and many business leaders from the private sector. During the conference, The InfraGard Electromagnetic Pulse Special Interest Group (EMP SIG) presented the recently published “Triple Threat Power Grid Exercise” program to Assistant Secretary Caitlin Durkovich of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, FEMA Administrator Craig Fugate, and Major General (ret.) Gus Hargett of the National Guard Association of the United States.  Gary Gardner, Chairman, InfraGard Board of Directors, stated “InfraGard is proud to present these unique summit/exercise planning sessions and documentation to further our nation’s preparation in dealing with these potential catastrophic events”.

This year, the Dupont Summit was preceded by a workshop on the Planning Framework Development for a Triple Threat Power Grid Exercise, which was held on Thursday, December 3rd at the National Guard Association of the United States in Washington DC.  It featured emerging regional EMP SIGs and their counterparts in the National Guard and the Department of Homeland Security Protective Security Advisor (PSA) Program.
